A Study on Frequency Efficiencies of Distributed Antenna Network in Cellular System

چکیده

Abstract In mobile communication systems, the received signal level varies due to fading, shadowing and path loss and therefore, the transmission performance degrades. Instead of using all of transmit antennas at one position, the outage probability in a service area can be improved by distributed antenna network (DAN) in which transmit antennas are distributed over the service area to transmit signal to mobile station and to receive signal from mobile station. Recently, we discussed a distributed antenna network (DAN) using maximal ratio transmission (MRT) diversity in single cell and downlink transmission and showed that received SNR (signal-to-noise) increases as the number of transmit antennas increases, resulting in the increasing channel capacity. In this paper, we evaluate, by computer simulation, the frequency efficiencies of DAN using MRT diversity in the cellular system and downlink transmission.
